The research groups related to the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education are linked to one or more of the three existing Research Lines in the program. These groups, formed by PPGECM faculty, undergraduate students (Research Initiation and Final Projects), and Graduate students (Master\u2019s and Doctorate), are hosted and develop their activities in various campuses of UFPR and UTFPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
GPEACM – Research Group on Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof. Dr. S\u00e9rgio Camargo and Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Tania Teresinha Bruns Zimer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This research group resulted from the collaboration of professors in the fields of Science Education and Mathematics Education participating in the Teaching and Learning Laboratory of Mathematics and Physical and Biological Sciences (LEA) of the Department of Theory and Practice of Teaching (DTPEN) of the Education Sector (ED) at the Federal University of Paran\u00e1 (UFPR), established since 1985. From the discussions on research concerning Teacher Education and Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics, the need to create this group arose in 2014. As a result, the group regularly meets for studies on theoretical references and discussions about research conducted by its members. The group also participates in educational events, presents papers, and publishes articles in relevant journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GEHMEC \u2013 Group of Multimodal Holistic Studies in Science Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Everton Bedin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Research Group: Multimodal Holistic Studies in Science Education was conceived from the interaction and cooperation between professors and students from different universities in Brazil, characterizing heterogeneous investigations from different perspectives aimed at analyzing, dialoguing, reflecting, and proposing research actions in the area of Science Education, both in the pedagogical and scientific sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GPINTEDUC \u2013 Research Group on Innovation and Technologies in Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Marcelo Souza Motta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This group aims to foster the integration of technologies and digital innovations into pedagogical actions, enabling the implementation, investigation, and experimentation of new possibilities for constructing an environment where students are active agents in their own learning. Participants are expected to acquire technological knowledge that allows the experimentation of new pedagogical and technological practices, enabling immersion in educational challenges, thus enhancing experiences and making them mediators of technological spaces for discussion, research, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GPEM \u2013 Research Group on Mathematics Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof. Dr. Emerson Rolkouski and Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Elisangela de Campos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The group started in 2001, originating from the research group Cognition, Learning, and Social Interaction, formed in 1991. Between 1995 and 2000, it added researchers from the Education Sector and the Department of Mathematics. From 2001 to 2008, it expanded the number of participants and, in 2010, became part of the Mathematics Education line of the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education (PPGECM) from the Exact Sciences Sector at UFPR. During this period, many dissertations and theses were defended, and students who obtained their degrees in projects linked to the group began to contribute as researchers and trainers. Since 2019, it has been associated with the research line Culture, School, Teaching, and Formative Processes in Education of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE), in the Education Sector of UFPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information GPEC \u2013 Research Group in Science Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Camila Silveira da Silva and Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Orliney Maciel Guimar\u00e3es<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Research Group in Science Education operates within the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education at UFPR, as part of the Science Education Research Line. The work carried out by the group aims to contribute to the production of knowledge that integrates a well-organized theoretical body, which, in the medium and long term, significantly influences the training of science teachers at different educational levels (Basic and Higher Education). It also seeks to rethink initial and continuing teacher education based on new foundations, promoting critical awareness regarding Science Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GEPETeL \u2013 Research Group on Education, Technologies, and Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Anderson Roges Teixeira G\u00f3es<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Research Group on Education, Technologies, and Languages (GEPETeL) focuses on the relationships between Education, Technologies, and Languages in educational processes at different levels and modalities of Basic Education. The group addresses didactic-pedagogical issues, researching and producing innovative methodologies that interface with citizenship formation, diversity, inclusion, languages, and educational projects. It also explores the potential of using and developing technologies in school practices, particularly in teacher training. The group scientifically integrates studies on curriculum, technologies, and languages, with premises grounded in the contextual analysis of learning challenges and teaching planning based on Universal Design for Learning, within an Inclusive Education perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> Labm\u00f3vel \u2013 Mobile Laboratory Research Group on Science Education at UFPR Litoral<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Arantes Reis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mobile Laboratory Research Group on Science Education (Labm\u00f3vel) has been working on researchs related to the dissemination and popularization of science and technology, as well as its relationship with basic education. Among the research objects, initiatives involving science centers and museums, traveling science projects, science fairs, scientific dissemination materials and citizen science stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GEPACT \u2013 Research Group on Scientific and Technological Literacy in Science Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof. Dr. Leonir Lorenzetti and Prof. Dr. Marcelo Val\u00e9rio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Research Group on Scientific and Technological Literacy in Science Education aims to study the conceptions, practices, and trends in Scientific and Technological Literacy in Science Education, emphasizing the articulation between teaching, research, and extension. It involves studies on Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL), the approach to the relationships between Science, Technology, Society, and Environment (STSE), Environmental Education (EE), and studies that discuss the role of Scientific Education in Basic Education and the training of science teachers in both formal and informal spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GPTEM \u2013 Research Group on Technologies in Mathematics Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof. Dr. Marco Aur\u00e9lio Kalinke and Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Eloisa Rosotti Navarro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are a group that develops academic studies and research related to the use of Technologies in Mathematics Education. We are affiliated with the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education (PPGECM) at the Federal University of Paran\u00e1 (UFPR) and the Graduate Program in Scientific, Educational, and Technological Training (PPGFCET) at the Federal University of Technology – Paran\u00e1 (UTFPR). GPTEM is also part of the School Technology Observatory Network (OTec). The group’s primary goal is to study the use of new technologies in Mathematics Education, focusing on their understanding, mastery, and development of new technological resources. The group aims to research the use of Digital Technologies (DT) in teaching and learning practices in Mathematics, particularly those related to the use of Learning Objects, Digital Whiteboards, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Computational Thinking, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GPESEC: Research Group on Health Education in Science Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Tiago Venturi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The main results obtained are scientific publications in national impact journals, as well as the training of researchers at the master’s and doctoral levels. The goal is for collaborations with national and international networks to promote new research that results in improved teacher training quality, as well as an increase in national and international scientific production in the field of Health Education in Science Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong> GEPEMA: Study and Research Group on Mathematics Education and Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leaders: Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Regina Luzia Corio de Buriasco e Gabriel dos Santos e Silva<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Study and Research Group on Mathematics Education and Assessment (GEPEMA) is located in the Mathematics Department at the State University of Londrina (UEL) and develops its activities within the Graduate Program in Science Education and Mathematics Education at UEL. The main activities include research related to Realistic Mathematics Education and Learning Assessment, as well as the training of researchers at the Master’s and Doctoral levels. The group\u2019s participants include Mathematics Education undergraduates, teachers who teach mathematics in Basic Education and Higher Education, current and former students of the Graduate Program in Science Education and Mathematics Education, and UEL faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong>: GECUDEDIS \u2013 Curriculum Studies, Decoloniality, Diversity, and Subalternity Study Group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof. Dr. Elenilton Vieira Godoy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The GECUDEDIS group \u2013 composed of researchers affiliated with the Mathematics Department, the Graduate Program in Science Education and Mathematics (PPGECM), and the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) at the Federal University of Paran\u00e1 (UFPR) \u2013 began its activities in 2019. Since then, it has focused on exploring, debating, and deepening discussions on the thematic areas of curriculum studies, decoloniality, diversity, and subalternity. GECUDEDIS has established itself as a group of resistance and counter-conduct in search of (in)surgence, (re)existence, and (re)living, in an attempt to subvert hegemonic logic within and outside academia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Information<\/strong>: EnCiMaT: Science Education, Mathematics Education, and ICTs in Teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Leader: Prof.\u00aa Dr.\u00aa Roberta Chiesa Bartelmebs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Research in the field of education, particularly in the teaching of Exact Sciences and Technologies, has a positive impact on understanding the modus operandi of education professionals at the Fundamental and High School levels in teaching Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computing. It is expected that group members will engage in research in teaching methodology within the exact sciences or computing fields, with the concrete goal of achieving results in the group\u2019s regional context, i.e., the western region of Paran\u00e1. It is theoretically based on the assumptions of complexity, aiming at the development of a culture of education that understands education as a multidimensional phenomenon. The goal is to foster an intertheoretical dialogue through a weaving of concepts and knowledge to develop a transdisciplinary perspective on teacher education in different fields of knowledge.
